Tanine Dugger / Social Worker

Tanine began passionately serving the formerly incarcerated community of New York city in 2019, after completing her graduate degree in clinical social work from Fordham university. She has extensive experience working with disenfranchised communities and understands the needs of marginalized populations. Tanine started her career at CASES on a Forensic Assertive Community Treatment Team (F. A.C.T) serving individuals who suffered from severe mental illness and were formerly incarcerated. F.A.C.T teams are immersed in clients’ communities, meeting all their needs with a holistic, comprehensive, team-based approach. Tanine excelled in supporting clients as an advocate in court proceedings, parole hearings, housing court and medical assessments.

Through CASES, Tanine also works as a psychotherapist at the Nathaniel Behavioral Health Clinic. A clinic that serves the community heavily affected by poverty. As a therapist, Tanine is apart of empowering the black and brown communities in overcoming the hardships that poverty has dealt them. Tanine is dedicated to making sure that people who have come in contact the with the criminal justice system and racism are treated with fairness and compassion.
